Start Living Healthy Now!

We were all given this one life. It should be every person's ambition to live long and healthy. We often have excuses and blame taking care of our family or working too hard for not taking care of ourselves. We often feel lost in contradicting the information on how to incorporate a healthy lifestyle. We get depressed because we lose self-esteem and control over our minds and bodies. Nobody says that making changes is easy. But the effort is well worth it.

Start small. Make an appointment with your doctor and your dentist. Talk to them both about what is bothering you health-wise. If you think your rapid weight gain has something to do with a hormone imbalance, have your doctor refer you to a specialist. If you feel tired all the time, have your doctor order some blood tests. When you arrive at the dentist's, think of questions you will ask them regarding your dental health. Incorporate inter-dental brushes instead of floss if needed. You know, it's the little things that count. And, most importantly, these little changes will make you feel better about yourself.

Next, calculate your BMI by measuring your height and weight and using a simple formula. Pay attention to your waistline – it is a direct signal of what is going on with your body. If your waistline is worrying, start measuring your physical activity by assessing its frequency and intensity. It is recommended that an adult commits themselves to 2,5 hours of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise a week. Surely you will be able to squeeze that into your busy schedule.

Now enter your inner self and assess the emotional state of affairs. Do you sometimes feel depressed, or is it a regular occurrence? Do you feel anxious and moody? Make sure you sleep seven to eight hours every night and engage in social activities. Human beings have the urge to belong to a group of think-alike. We strive towards stable, fulfilling and positive relationships. We are not wolves.
